Most musicians bring their instruments and own leads to plug into the mixer but some leads are available. Enquire with us.
The operator area is situated to the left of stage and with a clear view.

Feedback from event producers has been that the venue is a very adaptable and cosy venue, especially for “intimate” audience reaction, has good and easy to use technical facilities, easy access for disabled patrons and reasonably handy for car parking in the city and good budget and quality accommodation nearby.

The Fringe Bar is an entertainment venue where anything could happen, and every night is always different. Stand Up Comedy, Improvisation, Sketch Comedy, Musical Comedy, Theatre, Poetry, Karaoke, Live Music, Homegrown Film Screenings.

In August 2013 we moved from our former site in Cuba Street to Allen St and have developed more events and action. The Fringe Bar can deliver all your entertainment needs. In recent years The Fringe Bar has emerged as the home for Wellington comedy.

The venue hosts up to four nights of comedy every week. The Fringe Bar is also the home of The Wellington Improvisation Troupe (WIT) which performs improvised theatre and improvisational comedy every Wednesday.

The Fringe Bar has been honored to host many of the shows connected to the New Zealand Fringe Festival, and the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. These festivals see the Fringe Bar turn into a thriving hub for many artists, crew and their audiences.

The Fringe Bar fun continues into the early hours of the morning with punters singing ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’, ‘Mustang Sally’ and hundreds of other Karaoke hits. An excellent drinks menu, friendly staff, and private functions are all features of this unique venue. We have a an excellent kitchen and can deal with all your catering needs too!
