The Fringe Bar is an entertainment venue nestled in the heart of Wellington's bohemian Cuba Street. It is a place where anything could happen, and every night is always different. Stand Up Comedy, Improvisation, Sketch Comedy, Musical Comedy, Theatre, Poetry, Karaoke, Live Music, Homegrown Film Screenings and Open Acoustic Music Nights- The Fringe Bar can deliver all your entertainment needs.

In recent years The Fringe Bar has emerged as the home for Wellington comedy. The venue hosts up to four nights of comedy every week. The Fringe Bar is also the home of The Wellington Improvisation Troupe (WIT) which performs improvised theatre and improvisational comedy every Wednesday.

The Fringe Bar has been honored to host many of the shows connected to the New Zealand Fringe Festival, and the New Zealand International Comedy Festival. These festivals see the Fringe Bar turn into a thriving hub for many artists, crew and their audiences. The Chit Chat Lounge, the New Zealand Fringe Festival's free talk show, has had its home at Fringe Bar for many years.

Every night after the shows are over, The Fringe Bar turns into a place where everyone can become a star. The Fringe Bar fun continues into the early hours of the morning with punters singing 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', 'Mustang Sally' and hundreds of other Karaoke hits till the sun comes up.
